The National Clinical Research Center for Child Health NCRCCH is a pioneering entity in the field of pediatrics, established under the joint leadership of the Ministry of Science and Technology, National Health Commission, Ministry of National Defense, and National Medical Products Administration. It leverages the resources of Zhejiang University School of Medicine's Children's Hospital to serve as China's first national-level clinical research center dedicated to child health.
NCRCCH responds to the urgent needs for children's healthcare and disease prevention, focusing on translational medicine research, strategic control strategies, collaborative innovation, academic exchange, talent cultivation, and technology transformation. Its ultimate goal is to enhance the quality of clinical diagnosis and treatment services, ensure uniformity in medical standards across China, stimulate advancements in pediatric healthcare industries, and facilitate the diffusion of innovative medical technologies.
The Center's Collaborative Clinical Research Network:
NCRCCH has constructed a comprehensive network that spans over 500 medical institutions and research centers nationwide. This network spans multiple provinces and cities across China, ming to improve child health care standards through joint efforts in pediatric health promotion and disease prevention. The collaborative platform is designed to be omnidirectional, digital, and multi-level, integrating knowledge from diverse regions.
Major Research Achievements:
NCRCCH encompasses three primary research domns: child development and health promotion, neonatalchild critical care, and comprehensive management of major childhood diseases. It has led or co-led the development of over 30 guidelines for diagnosis and treatment procedures, two of which are international standards. The center established technical specifications for newborn genetic metabolic disease screening, marking a first in understanding common neonatal genetic disorders in China. It boasts the largest number of children treated using extracorporeal membrane oxygenation ECMO, encompassing the widest range of diseases with the highest success rate. Additionally, NCRCCH's national multicenter childhood obesity and diabetes cohort study forms the scientific foundation for global guidelines on child obesity prevention.
Promotion and Dissemination:
NCRCCH provides extensive technology promotion and trning to over 1,000 primary healthcare facilities across China, enhancing grassroots pediatric capabilities and fostering a standardized approach in children's health management.
