Read: 2010

Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at NYU Langone leads the state in pediatric cardiology and heart surgery care, ranking number one among New York's best children's hospitals as reported by U.S. News World Report in its prestigious “Best Children’s Hospitals” 2023-24 edition.

We are honored to be recognized for our commitment to delivering high-quality, family-centered care, says Frank Cecchin, MD, Director of the Division of Pediatric Cardiology and Andrall E. Pearson Professor of Pediatric Cardiology at NYU Langone. This ranking reflects the trust placed in us by families when they entrust their children’s hearts to our expert team.

The hospital's recognition as a national leader in pediatric cardiology follows its launch in 2018, marking an impressive milestone given the state-of-the-art facilities for delivering top-tier care.

We feel immense satisfaction knowing that patients are thriving after major heart procedures, shares Ralph S. Mosca, MD, MBA, Henry H. Arnhold Chr of Cardiothoracic Surgery and chief of the Division of Pediatric and Adult Congenital Cardiac Surgery at NYU Langone. These successful outcomes underscore our hospital's dedication to multidisciplinary care for children facing complex heart conditions.

With a unified team that includes cardiologists, congenital heart surgeons, anesthesiologists, cardiac intensivists, perfusionists, nurse practitioners, nurses, and more renowned leaders in their fields Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital offers comprehensive care from the neonatal period through adulthood for some of the rarest heart issues.

The Congenital Heart Center expansion completed in March 2021 features an outpatient area, diagnostic testing space, pre- and post-procedure appointments, and education resources for patients and their families. It is a focal point for nearly 250 annual surgeries on the full spectrum of pediatric and adult congenital heart disease cases, including transplant.

A collaboration between Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital’s Pediatric Congenital Heart Center and NYU Langone's Department of Pediatrics allows continuous delivery of exceptional care that also addresses non-medical needs through partnerships with the Sala Institute for Child and Family Centered Care. This integration includes support from experts in genetics, psychology, social work, spiritual guidance, and more.

We are proud to provide hope, answers, and top-tier medical treatment at Hassenfeld Children's Hospital, says Catherine S. Manno, MD, Pat and John Rosenwald Professor of Pediatrics and Department Chr at NYU Langone School of Medicine. It is my honor to serve a team that consistently delivers compassionate care with excellence.
