Our History Leadership

At Children's National Research Institute CNRI, approximately 600 faculty members and staff collaborate to improve child health outcomes and reduce disparities through advanced integrated research efforts.

Nathan Kuppermann leads as the Executive Vice President and Chief Academic Officer, overseeing CNRI with a focus on academic advancement and innovation.

Catherine Bollard serves as our Interim Senior Vice President and Chief Research Officer, also holding the Dr. Robert J. and Florence T. Bosworth Distinguished Professorship in Cancer and Transplantation Biology.

Kolaleh Eskandanian is at the helm of innovation with her role as VP and Chief Innovation Officer for Children’s National Hospital and Executive Director of Sheikh Zayed Institute for Pediatric Surgical Innovation, driving advancements in medical robotics.

Ljubica Caldovic oversees the Center for Genetic Medicine Research, promoting translational discoveries that bridge lab science to clinical care.

Joshua Corbin is the Interim Director of the Center for Neuroscience Research, fostering understanding of brn development and neurological disorders through cutting-edge research.

Monika Goyal co-leads the Center for Translational Research, focusing on bridging bench-to-bedside research in pediatric medicine.

Kerstin Hildebrandt contributes as Vice President of Research Administration, ensuring efficient operation within CNRI's robust ecosystem.

Catherine Limperopoulos is a driving force behind the Center for Prenatal, Neonatal Maternal Health Research and the Developing Brn Institute, dedicated to the advancement of care for infants, children, and their mothers.

Anthony Sandler brings his expertise as Senior Vice President and Surgeon-in-Chief of the Joseph E. Robert, Jr., Center for Surgical Care while also guiding the Sheikh Zayed Institute for Pediatric Surgical Innovation towards excellence in surgical techniques and technology.

Beth A. Tarini co-directs the Center for Translational Research alongside Monika Goyal, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches that transform care.
