Evaluating Quality and Identifying Factors Affecting the Delivery of Well-child Care Services in Hunan Province, China

Objective: This study med to assess the quality of well-child health care services and identify factors that impact their delivery from the perspective of healthcare providers based in Hunan Province. To achieve this goal, a qualitative descriptive method was utilized, employing purposive sampling to recruit 22 well-child health care professionals from government community health centers across the province.

: The participants were interviewed individually using semi-structured questionnres designed to explore their insights into the administration of well-child healthcare services in Hunan Province. Interviews lasted approximately 25-30 minutes and covered issues such as service quality, barriers to its implementation, and suggestions for improvement. Transcripts from these interviews underwent thematic analysis.

Findings: The mn finding was a consensus among participants that the delivery of well-child care services in Hunan Province is inadequate. Factors contributing to this shortcoming were identified including:

  1. Fragmentation of the primary healthcare system.

  2. Lack of parental and management attention towards well-child health care.

  3. Insufficient specialized knowledge on well-child care.

: The study highlights critical areas that in order to enhance the quality and accessibility of well-child care services within the province. Recommations for addressing these issues include integrating comprehensive trning programs on well-child healthcare practices, enhancing communication channels between healthcare providers and parents, and implementing policies med at streamlining the current fragmented healthcare system.

Implications: These findings suggest potential improvements in service delivery that could lead to enhanced child health outcomes and increased parental involvement. Further research should explore strategies for overcoming identified barriers and assessing the effectiveness of implemented interventions over time.
