Definition of Medical Complexity:
Medical complexity encompasses children experiencing frequent hospitalizations, emergency room visits, and those requiring advanced medical equipment like ventilators, tracheostomies, feeding tubes, and intrathecal baclofen pumps. Children under our care often have complex chronic conditions including:
Prematurity
Genetic syndromes
Cerebral palsy
Spinal cord injuries
Neuromuscular disorders
Functional limitations requiring adaptive equipment
What is Comprehensive Care?
Children with medical complexity are a specialized group within the pediatric population. They require high levels of medical attention due to their frequent hospitalizations and complex care needs, necessitating interdisciplinary care teams familiarized with managing such conditions.
Our team collaborates closely with your child's primary healthcare providers PCPs and subspecialists to ensure seamless coordination and management of your child's unique health challenges. This partnership includes:
