Beijing Children's Hospital, affiliated with Capital Medical University, is a comprehensive tertiary pediatric institution that integrates medical care, research, teaching, and healthcare. The hospital was founded in 1942 by Academician Zhu Futang, the pioneer of modern pediatrics in China.
The hospital boasts an area of over 70,000 square meters with floor space of more than 120,000 square meters, featuring a capacity of 970 registered beds, serving approximately 3 million outpatient visits annually and accommodating more than 70,000 inpatient stays alongside carrying out more than 23,000 surgeries per year. It was designated as the National Center for Children's Health, China by the Ministry of Science and Technology since 2014.
Beijing Children's Hospital has been actively pursuing innovation and development to promote pediatric advancements through its concept of forming Beijing Children's Hospital Group BCHG in 2013. Currently, there are 20 BCHG member hospitals that have been established, enhancing patient care services throughout China. The hospital is highly esteemed both domestically and internationally and has cooperative relationships with numerous renowned pediatric institutions from countries including the USA, Russia, Canada, Italy, Australia, Sweden, Germany, France, Japan, Singapore, Czech Republic.

The hospital is committed to providing 247 service through opening clinics around the clock, and it continues to prioritize serving the community through its efforts in public health campgns including hand-foot-and-mouth disease HFMD prevention, milk powder screening, H7N9 influenza screening, earthquake rescues, and other urgent needs.
